Brighton's Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to a very special celebration for a very special little boy. We consider Brighton a special part of our family. I came to know Shawnee through a Home Schooling organization we serve on together. We also participate in a on-line Bible study and this past year my daughter & I were blessed with the opportunity to meet Brighton, Shawnee and the rest of the family. It was better than corresponding via the phone, e-mails & instant messaging.

Brighton is a sweet little boy who has had a rough start to his life. The doctors believe Brighton has a rare metabolic disease called mitochondrial disease. Brighton has made it to his 2nd birthday, despite all the challenges that he has faced this year. So we are all gathering to celebrate and cheer. Today several talented crafty friends have decided to join me in this celebration!

Our card today is light blue green with a scalloped center piece including greens, oranges yellows and blue. It represents two balloons for turning two on his birthday; but most of all Brighton. Brighton has recently mastered crawling. I can hear Shawnee telling him "crawl Brighton" and he will flip from sitting and off he'll crawl with one of his bright smiles!!

• Papers, twine & brad from our stash/scraps.
