Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today, we'd like to wish my Mom a "Happy Birthday"!   I wish I could be with her to celebrate; distance separates us but times does not.

It is great we have a phone, we use it frequently!   I've already called her first thing this morning and she also knows we made her a card.  She will be receiving a package from us the beginning of the week.  I thought I'd share our creations me made for her with you today.

First we made her a special birthday card:

Recipe:
  • Cricut papers "blues" and also K&Company stack were used.
  • Stampin-Up Build a Blossom Stamps.
  • Stampin-Up: Taken Teal, Old Olive and Summer Sun inks were used.
  • Verve Birthday stamp.
  • Twine & brad from our stash/scraps.
We also made a altered notebook for her as she is a pet-lover and often pet sits.

Recipe:
  • Mamba pet stack was used.
  • DCVW scrap paper on hand used for binding.

We hope you stop back soon again to visit us & our blog. ♥♥(ˆ◡ˆ)♥♥

Brighton's Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to a very special celebration for a very special little boy. We consider Brighton a special part of our family. I came to know Shawnee through a Home Schooling organization we serve on together. We also participate in a on-line Bible study and this past year my daughter & I were blessed with the opportunity to meet Brighton, Shawnee and the rest of the family. It was better than corresponding via the phone, e-mails & instant messaging.

Brighton is a sweet little boy who has had a rough start to his life. The doctors believe Brighton has a rare metabolic disease called mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial disease is an energy depleting disease. You can read more about Mitochondrial disease at http://umdf.org or http://mitoaction.org

Brighton has made it to his 2nd birthday, despite all the challenges that he has faced this year. So we are all gathering to celebrate and cheer. Today several talented crafty friends have decided to join me in this celebration!
If you came from Lisa T. then you are in the right place. If not, please go back to the beginning of the hop @ Shawnee's blog & be sure to see all the amazing projects. We have some great sponsors for this hop. They include:

A $20 GC to KaDoodle Bug Designs www.kadoodlebugdesigns.com.
(GC is for regular priced items, not sale prices)

A dust cover for a Silhouette Cameo from Wunder's Creations

This adorable Mini Album Kit from www.honeybearzdesigns.com

An adorable Stamp Set from Mary at CardzTV Stamps (http://www.cardztvstamps.blogspot.com/)

Requirements to enter :
  1. Leave a comment on each blog
  2. Follow each sponsor on FB (if you don't do fb let us know)
  3. Leave a comment on Shawnee's blog with your birthday wish for Brighton
Our card today is light blue green with a scalloped center piece including greens, oranges yellows and blue. It represents two balloons for turning two on his birthday; but most of all Brighton. Brighton has recently mastered crawling. I can hear Shawnee telling him "crawl Brighton" and he will flip from sitting and off he'll crawl with one of his bright smiles!!

Recipe:
  • Cricut papers "blues & earthtones" stacks were used.
  • DCWV Animal Crackers Stack.
  • Papers, twine & brad from our stash/scraps.
  • Baby Steps & Elegant Edges "Cricut" cartridges were used.
Thanks for joining us today!  We hope you stop back soon again to visit us & our blog. ♥♥(ˆ◡ˆ)♥♥

Day#2~Annual Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop for Special Needs

Welcome to the Annual Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop for Special Needs Children!

We're delighted to join more than 3 dozen other women who have each made at least one Halloween-themed banner that will be donated to hang in the room of a medically-fragile child at Pediatric Specialty Care in Pennsylvania.

Our Hop Hostess (Ellen CardMonkey Jarvis) works at PSC’s Bucks County site as Admissions Coordinator. The Banner Hop starts there, so please be sure to circle back to the beginning to see all of the terrific banners have been made for these very special children.

Ellen shares this information with us about Pediatric Specialty Care: “PSC is a very special place where children stay either long- or short-term, typically after hospitalization.  Most are dependent on ventilators and other technology to survive. Some have been born too early or with genetic diseases or birth injuries.  Other children suffer injuries later in life that require constant care later, including brain injuries from trauma or loss of oxygen (from choking, suffocation or drowning) and spinal cord injuries.

These children and their families -- and PSC’s staff -- are thrilled to receive the Halloween banners, to help brighten the season when their friends and siblings will be out trick-or-treating.”

Here is the 2nd banner we're sending to a child at PSC:
